Everyone Must Row With the Oars He Has

Andy Nulman at Pow! Right Between the Eyes! has posted one of the most accurate definitions of leadership I’ve seen in some time …
“Leadership is when you take full responsibility for things totally out of your control.”
And leadership skills will always be in demand.
Yet many rural and rurban communities lack the internal capacity to recruit or encourage leadership growth within their regions, thereby impacting future sustainability.
The challenge, then, lies not in leadership development initiatives, but in the identification, recruitment and ongoing support of future rural and rurban leaders.
What is your community doing to develop its leaders?
