Leverage Local Tourism Efforts With ‘Locals Know’ Campaign – Winter Edition

Earlier this year, I wrote about how smaller communities could leverage their local tourism efforts through the Canadian Tourism Commission’s (CTC) national ‘Locals Know’ campaign.
In a nutshell, ‘Locals Know’ – localsknow.ca – is a national, integrated marketing campaign comprised of print, online, display, and social media aspects aimed to support the Canadian tourism industry.
Now, the campaign is back with a winter edition… just in time to promote the incredible variety of winter activities that exist across the country.
Canadians are encouraged to participate by uploading images of their favourite winter travel spots and activities.
It’s also a great platform for small-and-medium sized businesses to upload information and get exposure; many have already capitalized on this opportunity and can be found amongst the listings.
It’s quick. It’s easy. And best of all, it’s free.
Visit the site. Upload your original images. Participate, become eligible to win prizes, and promote your area!

The CTC was recently awarded the prestigious 2009 Marketer of the Year award by Marketing magazine for this campaign.
